CHARTER Fund Raising Committee Charter Purpose: The Fund Raising Committee’s purpose is to raise money for the National Capital Society of American Foresters by planning and carrying out activities and events. The money raised by the Committee shall be used at the discretion of the Executive Committee. Organization and Operation: The Fund Raising Committee is composed of a Chair, and several other NCSAF members. The following sections of the NCSAF bylaws relate to the Fund Raising Committee: “Special Committees authorized by the Executive Committee, shall be appointed by the Chair. Such committees may include: Communications; Education; Fund Raising; Issues; Membership; Newsletter; Policy; Professional Recognition; Program(sic); and Wild Acres, etc.” [NCSAF Bylaws, Article 9: Special Committees, A. Special Committees] “The Executive Committee shall adopt a charter for each of the other standing and special committees, outlining the objectives, organization, and activities of each. The new chair of each committee may recommend to the Executive Committee at its first meeting of the year any changes needed in his/her committee charter. However, amendments may be made to any committee charter with the approval of the Executive Committee at any time.” [NCSAF Bylaws, Article 8: Standing Committees, A. Executive Committee] “Other appointments for specific events, e.g. Science Day, Foresters Fund, Historian, Phonathon, professional development seminars, events with other professional societies, etc., shall be made by the Chair with the approval of the Executive Committee.” [NCSAF Bylaws, Article 9: Special Committees, B. Special Committees] Duties & Responsibilities: The Committee is responsible for a variety of fund raising activities including (but not limited to):
The Committee is responsible for acquiring door prizes and auction items. Items may be purchased or donated by NCSAF members or from others solicited by the committee. The Committee shall work in coordination with the Program Committee to accomplish raffles or auctions at program events , such as luncheons , picnics , or forums. The Committee shall develop promotional materials for fundraising events for distribution by the Communications Committee. The Committee shall collect the funds raised and provide the Treasurer with the net funds and receipts as appropriate. The Committee Chair shall participate in Executive Committee meetings as necessary. Adopted by the NCSAF Executive Committee on August 16, 2007. |
