Webmaster of the Communications Committee
Position Description
Objective:
- Establish and maintain a National Capital State Society - Society of American Foresters (NCSAF) website as a source of information for members, policymakers, natural resource professionals and others who are interested in the science of forestry in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
Organization:
- The Webmaster is a member of the Communications Committee. The Webmaster is designated by the Chair of the Communications Committee at the beginning of the calendar year and can be re-appointed annually based on the willingness of the Webmaster to continue to serve.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a web site for the National Capital State Society of the Society of American Foresters.
- Coordinate with the Communications Committee Chair, the Newsletter Editor and other Committee Chairs to ensure that the information on the website is consistent and coordinated with the information provided in the NCSAF newsletter.
- Maintain the website domain registry and web hosting arrangements and to work with the NCSAF Treasurer to ensure that all related bills are paid in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all pertinent and appropriate information is received from committee chairs for inclusion in the website.
- Work with the National Office of SAF to ensure that the NCSAF link on the national website is operable and to work with the national office staff to resolve any operational issues.
- Maintain data regarding website visitors and periodically provide reports to the Executive Committee.
- Work with other appropriate forestry organizations to have the NCSAF website link on their website.
- Make recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding requests to include links to other organizations, documents, and informational material for the website.
